OTK Boots: Love TKO or DUI?

I'm addicted to fashion.  There I said it.  I know that the first step in the 12-Step program is admitting that I have an addiction. However, the only 12-Steps I'm interested in taking, are in the Giuseppe Zanotti python printed ankle boots.  FI-YAH!

Keyword, "ankle."

Over The Knee (OTK) Boots have been front-and-center for back-to-back fall seasons, F09 & F10, respectively.  Are they a love Technical Knock Out (TKO) or a Disaster Under the Influence (DUI)?  I think that's up to the Pretty Woman that rocks them.

Pretty Woman, Walking Down The Street...
My judgement on the OTKs has since softened, after seeing Jimmy Choo's Perfect OTK boots paired with some skinnys and an oversize tunic.  The image that I had in mind was of Julia Roberts as Richard Gere's escort was causing some cognitive dissonance on my behalf.  Check out http://www.jimmychoo.com/collections/choo-247-boots/icat/247bootsrw/ in the corner left pocket to take a gander and cop a pair.

Whew.  Glad I snapped out of that.

Now I can fully embrace the beauty of the OTK sensation.

Get Too Fly On Bluefly...
I was on Bluefly.com today checking out a fab pair of Christian Louboutin OTK boots that my friend wants to cop.  She's been saving her pennies since the Spring Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week to get these lovely grey CL OTK boots.  They're over $1.5K and the nearly two months rent.  I think both Kelis & Snoop Dogg would agree that you have to Pay The Cost To Be The Boss(-say).  Stomping to the death in those bad boys will certainly bring all the boys to the yard.

If It Looks A Duck, And Quacks Like A Duck...
Shortly thereafter, she sent me a message about a website featuring primarily Christian Louboutin heels for a very deep discount.  Guiseppe & YSL were also in full effect.  I saw the most beautiful, suede chocolate Christian Louboutin OTKs.  The asking price was a mere $279.00--so more like a car note or sum total of my monthly school loan payments.  Definitely doable, and no eviction notice involved. No muss, no fuss.  The only hesitation with this website was regarding the authenticity of the retailer.  I err on the side of the fashion world that believes that Fakes Are Never In Fashion, and further investigation is necessary before pointing and clicking my way into a first payment default.  Once I get my Sherlock Holmes on, I'll hit you with the deets.  I'd read a personal message from Christian alerting purchasers of the lack of authenticity of many online retailers that were using "Louboutin," in the web address, and this website happened to follow that convention.

Va-Va, Va-Voom!
BCBG Generation also has a great selection of OTKs, for less than $200.00.  $198.00, yes, but is less than $200.00.  My top two faves were a pair of black platforms and another pair of black suede's with lace-up detail behind the knee and a lovely ruffle (very thin, not Blache Deveraux style) to top it all off.  http://www.bcbg.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=3982536&cp=4213686&clickid=cat_leftnav_txt

Ladies & Gentleman Of The (Fashion) Jury...
OTKs are another form of creative expression and individuality--simply art for your feet.  Rocking the Christians on Bluefly or even bopping with the BCBG Generation will certainly result in another Love TKO.

Now, off to set the trap for him to Come On Over To My Place.  ;0)

The fans want to know if you are going to actually cop a pair of OTK this season so you can TKO them

  2. Hi Chloe'. Thanks for commenting! I responded yesterday, but it looks like my bootleg internet cnx didn't hold up long enough to post.

I will certainly join in all the fun of the OTKs. Whether, I get to cop them outright from BCBG Generation or create and patent a shoe extention to Beyonce' Upgrade U to ATK (@ The Knee) boots already in repertoire--it's goin down!

  6. I got a newsflash alert on yesterday from a friend that the site, finechristianlouboutin.com was cited on the news as a knock-off. The fairy tale princess in me sooo wanted to believe that this mirage was really an oasis in the desert. I'm going to have my fire-breathing dragon burn the wicked heels to ashes. LOL :0)
